Watershed Events

Recent Events

  • Amy Cramer's third grade science students at the South Park Elementary Center released 120 Brook Trout fingerlings into Peters Creek that they grew from eggs in their classroom. This was part of the Trout in the Classroom Program sponsored by PA Trout Unlimited and the PA Fish and Boat Commission. The students participated in a field trip to Peters Creek to learn about water quality issues affecting local streams and to release their trout. PCWA partnered with Mrs. Cramer and provided some funding for this effort.

  • PCWA had a table at the Gardens in the Parks event on August 20, 2016. The weather was great and many folks stopped by to learn about the Peters Creek Watershed and issues impacting our local streams. The event was sponsored by the Master Gardeners of Allegheny County.
